Lee Kuan Yew GCMG CH SPMJ DK (born Harry Lee Kuan Yew; 16 September 1923 – 23 March 2015), often referred to by his initials LKY, was a Singaporean statesman and lawyer who served as the first Prime Minister of Singapore from 1959 to 1990, and Secretary-General of the People's Action Party from 1954 to 1992.
Description and Ethnobotany. A creeper with slender stems cascading giving a curtain feature. Plant can climb but requires support. Green, elliptical leaves with entire to irregularly toothed margin, growing alternately along the stems. Clusters of pinkish white flowers on axillary stems.
It was actually first put to use in Singapore in the 1960s when then-Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew decided to green and beautify the island republic. All the unsighly views were cut off by screens of Vernonia elliptica. This species does not flower in Malaysia and Singapore.
