The National Palace Museum was originally established as the Palace Museum in the Forbidden City on 10 October 1925, shortly after the expulsion of Puyi, the last emperor of China, from the Forbidden City by warlord Feng Yuxiang.

May 5, 2019 · If it’s a wealth of history you seek, then the National Palace Museum is the place to visit in Taipei. Contained within is the world’s largest and collection of Chinese art including the Jadeite Cabbage, a beautiful sculpture carved into the shape of a Chinese cabbage head.
Dec 6, 2012 · The national palace museum is definately a must visit when in Taipei. The have a great imperal collection of bronzes, jades, paintings, ceramics, personal artifacts of the imperial court and more. However there are also some parts that are not very interesting to a western tourist in my opinion, like the calligraphy and books sections.
Those interested in Chinese culture and history are highly encouraged to visit the National Palace Museum, as it hosts the largest number of ancient artefacts, even more than the Forbidden City in Beijing.
