Sep 11, 2015 · To just indicate a real pitying disappointment about that or anything else in a phrase with no further details, I'd use "What a shame!", but in a whole sentence I would in fact use "It's such a shame that.." noun: Shame=disgrace. adjective: ashamed=feeling embarrassed and guilty for having done something unworthy.
