May 3, 2020 · Finally saw Sinister 2 (spoilers) Discussion. To start, I loved Sinister. Easily one of the best mainstream horror flicks to come out in the last decade IMO. I'm also not a huge fan of sequels. So when I first heard about Sinister 2 I was more than reluctant to see it. And then it got completely shredded by critics and audiences alike.
Feb 7, 2019 · I loved the first movie, and really liked this one. It does things differently, which is a good thing as it expands the lore. More focus is given to the characters and their behaviour towards each other, so Sinister 2 has a more dramatic (and in a sense, "real") vibe than the first one. It wasn't as good, but still a good surprise to me.
Aug 14, 2022 · The best thing in Sinister is the opening Super 8 home movie because you quickly but suddenly have to figure out what you're looking at. It's a decent horror after that but scaring people with the idea that their own kids could be compelled to chop them up and burn them is a p basic ploy. Reply reply. BlueMoon0812.
Aug 18, 2021 · I like Sinister 2, but its not AS good as the 1st one. It takes a bit more of a mainstream approach to Baghuul and not much is left to the imagination. But its by no means a bad movie, in my opinion. It’s okay.. watchable, but the first one is way better.

That Rotten Tomatoes score is totally baffling to me because I thought this was surprisingly solid, and a lot better than something like Insidious Chapter 3.

Aug 12, 2019 · Sinister 1 is like a 9/10 and one of my favorite modern horrors (it could've been a 10/10 if not for a weaker third act). Sinister 2 is like a 3/10 that I try to forget ever happened. The first film, I thought this was universally agreed by everyone. The first movie is much more effective.
