OK, these artists have historically created some stuff that sounds vaguelly like Yello (or Yello is partly inspired by them): Kraftwerk. Jean-Michel Jarre (mainly Zoolook) Art of Noise. But even when I ignore Dieter Meier's hypnotic voice, I still cannot find anything musically similar to what Yello currently produces, which I find strange.
You'd be outright wrong if Mello Yello was compared to Real Sugar aka Throwback Mountain Dew because it is so much better than normal MD; but, it's unfair to compare a HFCS pop to a sugar one. I own every album prior to this and most have amazing sound quality. Thanks for posting this.. listening right now on my office system. Sounds awesome on my KEF LS50's...
