Kessel was drafted 5th overall in 2006 after winning gold at the U18 World Junior Championship and became the first rookie in NHL history to win a Bill Masterton Trophy. He played in 3 All-Star games and won back-to-back Stanley Cups with the Penguins in 2016 and 2017.
