Film i Skåne is the regional film fund and resource center for film in Skåne (Scania), Sweden. We work broadly across the entire film area and collaborate with many organisations both regionally, nationally and internationally. We invest in the development and co-production of films and in the talent development of future filmmakers.
When the Swedish vampire film “Frostbite” was prospected it was only natural for producer Magnus Paulsson, Solid Entertainment, to contact the regional film funds Filmpool and Film i Skåne. “The story of “Frostbite” was written by Daniel Ojanlatva who lives in the far north of Sweden.
Plot. In 1944, during World War II in Ukraine, the remnants of the 5th SS Panzer Division Wiking are fleeing from Red Army. They seek shelter in an abandoned cabin. As darkness falls, they are attacked by vampires inhabiting a hidden crypt under the cabin.
Through the co-production of short, documentary and feature films, Film I Skåne hopes to attract capital that is spent in the region on services, facilities and labour that help develop the audio-visual infrastructure in Skåne.

Film i Skåne’s film studio, Ystad Studios, is one of Sweden’s largest film studios with two soundstages, each measuring 600m². Many films and series, such as “Wallander” and “The Bridge,” have been filmed here.
