6 Feb 2015 · Conjuring up the spirit of György Ligeti, the first half of the album is made entirely of 12 string players being directed to play around, make noisey clusters and crescendoes, moving you between Denial, Anger, Bargaining and Depression. In fact, The Summoner is the first Kreng album NOT made by hordes of samples. Music to really dig deep in to.
Pepijn Caudron aka Kreng is a composer for movies, video games, dance and theater productions. He has been the in-house composer of the Belgian surrealist horror-theater company Abattoir Fermé for more than 10 years.
Kreng is a dark ambient/modern classical/soundtrack project conjured up by Belgian musician Pepijn Caudron, who is associated with theater group Abattoir Fermé. Caudron 's recordings combine ghostly operatic vocals, shuffling jazz drumming, eerie dialogue samples, and layers of acoustic instrumentation, producing dark, suspenseful soundscapes.
