Nsync was the only US-based teen pop boy band that became as successful as BSB. Westlife and BoyZone were UK-based; 98 Degrees was more adult contemporary, so they were not directly competing against BSB. O-Town tried to follow the same formula but never became as successful. BSB's music catalogue consisted of both up-tempo tracks and ballads.
