Geoffrey Downes (born 25 August 1952) is an English keyboardist who gained fame as a member of the new wave group the Buggles with Trevor Horn, the progressive rock band Yes, and the supergroup Asia. Born in Stockport , Downes moved to London to pursue a music career.

Feb 24, 2023 · Guitarist Steve Howe and keyboard player Geoff Downes both came from Yes (before that, Downes had been one half of the chart-topping pop duo The Buggles ). Carl Palmer boasted a lengthy resume that included The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown, Atomic Rooster and, most recently, Emerson, Lake & Palmer.
In addition to Video Killed The Radio Star and a number of Asia classics, Downes introduced a new piece especially for the evening, The Bridge. His solo show was eventually released as CD #2 in the series of music from the Platinum fan club later in 2003.
