Nov 3, 2007 · Would-be writer Ryunosuke Chagawa is still living across the street from Norifumi Suzuki and his auto repair shop, though now he shares his home with Junnosuke, an orphan he's taken under his wing at the urging of pretty Hiroi, who continues to manage a nearby tavern.
Summaries. Chagawa finds it increasing difficult to support his young ward Junnosuke in his store across the street from the Suzuki garage on Third Street. Unless he can provide a better life, Junnosuke's rich father, Kawabata will take him away.
Spring 1959. We meet the local residents of run down Third Street again as they strive to fulfill their dreams as Tokyo gears up for the Olympics. Ryunosuke tries to shape up and become an award-winning author while he pines for sake bar owner Hiromi, who left a year ago without saying a word.
