Dayanand Chandrashekhar Shetty (born 11 December 1969) is an Indian film and television actor and model, best known for his role as Senior Inspector Daya in India 's longest-running television police procedural, CID.
Dayanand started his career as a sportsmen and used to play shot put and discus throw, and won many prizes for it. But, due to a leg injury, he left the sports and joined modelling. In 2002, he was voted as the best looking guy by Indian Television. He is popular for his signature dialogue in CID, Darwaza tod do Daya. Video unavailable.
