Born on November 30, 1982 in Liverpool, Merseyside, England, Tony Bellew is a rangy boxer who has fought at light heavyweight and cruiserweight. He had a successful amateur career, winning ABA titles in 2002 and 2003 and picking up quite a few KOs along the way.
Bellew was knocked out in the eighth round by the undisputed cruiserweight champion, who retained his titles and looked ahead to the heavyweight division. Bellew, who announced his retirement after the fight, praised Usyk as the greatest man he ever shared a ring with and said he was tired in the ring.
