Laure Manaudou (French pronunciation: [lɔʁ manodu]; born 9 October 1986) is a retired French Olympic, world and European champion swimmer. She has held the world record in freestyle events between 200 and 1500 meter.

Manaudou will receive the lit Paris 2024 Olympic Torch from the hands of the very first torchbearer, Stefanos Douskos, who is an Olympic rowing champion who won gold for Greece at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.
One of the prominent female swimmers of the first decade of the 21st century, Laure Manaudou excelled in the long distance freestyle events, as well as the backstroke. Her first major international event were the 2004 European Championships, during which she claimed three golds (400 freestyle, 100 backstroke, medley relay).
On 15 August, Manaudou won the 400m freestyle gold to become the first French swimmer to win an Olympic title since Jean Boiteux, who prevailed over the same distance back in 1952. She went on to win two further medals in Athens: silver in the 800m freestyle and bronze in the 100m backstroke.
