Richard Erwin Rood (December 7, 1958 – April 20, 1999), better known by his ring name "Ravishing" Rick Rude, was an American professional wrestler who performed for many promotions, including World Championship Wrestling (WCW), World Wrestling Federation (WWF), and Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW).
Making his debut in professional wrestling in the early 1980s, Rick Rude garnered a decorated career for himself before winding down his in-ring activity in 1994. Unfortunately, as Rick Rude was training for an in-ring return, he passed away in April 1999 at the age of 40 years old.
Unfortunately, when he tried to woo Jake “The Snake” Roberts’ wife, the reptilian Superstar did not respond kindly, setting off a heated rivalry. Ravishing Rick defeated Ultimate Warrior for the Intercontinental Championship during his time in WWE before he jumped back to WCW in 1991.
