If you haven’t been in Sabah long enough, you probably would not know about Mahua Waterfall (Air Terjun Mahua), one of most beautiful waterfalls in Tambunan, Sabah. Even though Mahua Waterfall isn’t the most powerful or highest waterfall in Sabah, it is definitely the most assessable waterfall to visit without breaking a sweat.
Mahua Waterfall (Malay: Air Terjun Mahua) is a plunge type waterfall located in Patau Village, Tambunan District of Sabah, Malaysia within the Crocker Range National Park administered by Sabah Parks under the state Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment.
At the end of the trail, the Mahua Waterfall tumbles down in an agitated vertical column of water, sending up a continuous misty spray as it crashes into the pool below. The height of the Fall is uncertain. One source puts it as 9 metres, another 15 metres and yet another 17 metres.
This is like a secret avatar garden, where the majestic fall is accompanies by the greenery plants and on the rocks. The water is very cold and the waterfall creates a windy surroundings so do be prepared if you're taking a dip. You will be amazed by the strong sound of water dropping, and the breeze that follows.

Around 26km northeast of Tambunan, this gorgeous 17m-high waterfall plunges into a deep pool below, perfect for a refreshing dip. There's a spartan hostel on site (dorm/room RM30/70) if you wish to stay the night, and a basic restaurant.
