Michael Lee McDaniel (born March 6, 1983) is an American football coach who is the head coach for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). A former long-time assistant and descendant of the Shanahan coaching tree, McDaniel began his NFL coaching career as an intern for the Denver Broncos in 2005.
They dropped 70 points, only three shy of the all-time NFL record, as they annihilated the Denver Broncos, the very same team that their head coach Mike McDaniel got his start at.
Mike McDaniel is the 11th head coach in Dolphins history and led the team to back-to-back playoff appearances in his first two seasons (2022-23). He also served as the offensive play-caller and helped the Dolphins set several team records and reach the Pro Bowl in both years.
