The Buchmann-Mehta School of Music (BMSM) is an institute of higher education in Tel Aviv, Israel. The school is a part of the Faculty of the Arts of Tel Aviv University and is operated in collaboration with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (IPO).
The Buchmann-Mehta School of Music was founded in 2005 as a unique partnership between Tel-Aviv University (TAU) – the largest and most comprehensive university in Israel – and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (IPO) – the country’s most prominent music institution.
Welcome to the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music. Josef Buchmann, Vice Chairman of TAU Board of Governors, established in 2005 the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music with his close friend Zubin Mehta, and is a loyal supporter of the School ever since.
The Buchmann-Mehta School of Music was founded in 2005, as a merge of the Samuel Rubin Israel Academy of Music, Tel-Aviv University's Musicology Department and the orchestral training program of the Israel Philharmonic.
