Daewoo Motor Sales ( Korean : 대우자동차판매) was an auto sales company headquartered in Seoul, South Korea. It was established in 1993. Daewoo Motor Sales operated dealerships in South Korea which sell vehicles manufactured by Daewoo Motors and its successors and partners. [1]
Sale of Daewoo to General Motors. By 1999, the whole Daewoo Group ran into financial trouble, and was forced to sell its automotive division. Candidates for the operation included Hyundai associated with DaimlerChrysler, Ford Motor Company and the GM-Fiat alliance.
Due to financial trouble, Daewoo's automotive arm, Daewoo Motors, was sold to General Motors (Korean) in 2001. The Daewoo nameplate continued in South Korea and Vietnam until 2011. The former Daewoo facilities are now producing General Motors vehicles for Asian markets.
