On June 15, 2017, it was announced that Comcept had become an wholly-owned subsidiary of Japanese publisher/developer Level-5 Inc., with Comcept CEO Keiji Inafune staying on as the new company's CCO. As part of this announcement, Comcept's Tokyo studio was shuttered and all development was moved to the Osaka studio.
