This is a film following Gertrude Stein and Alice B. Toklas on a bit of a road trip, spending time with one another and bickering. They pick up a boy -- a young Andrew McCarthy, famous most we guess from his teen romantic dramas and comedies -- who is off to fight in the Spanish Civil War.
