May 30, 2003 · synopsis. The janitor’s lodge of Palazzo Farnese is the kingdom of Emilia, the wife of a Castel Sant’Angelo’s jail warder. A stern housewife, she hardly notices the comings and goings of Scarpia’s coach and never gets upset by the cries and the illicit tradings that take place in the palace.
