Hänsel und Gretel ist eines der bekanntesten deutschen Märchen. Es steht in den Kinder- und Hausmärchen der Brüder Grimm an Stelle 15. Dort schrieb sich der Titel ab der 2. Auflage Hänsel und Grethel. Ludwig Bechstein übernahm es nach Friedrich Wilhelm Gubitz in sein Deutsches Märchenbuch als Hänsel und Gretel.
