Jesse Crawford, a young Arkansas folk singer, heads for the college town of Waymount in hopes of getting an education. En route, he rescues the dean's pretty daughter, Judy Grant, from an automobile accident and is rewarded with an opportunity to take entrance exams, which he passes.
