It is part of the Wylie Independent School District which covers south central Collin County and includes portions of the communities of Sachse , St. Paul and Murphy along with Wylie.

One of the two high schools in the Wylie Independent School District, Wylie High is classified as a 6A school. Wylie ISD was established in 1901 by Ovid Birmingham, who then provided money to build the first Wylie High School in 1905.
