Nie Gannu (Chinese: 聂绀弩; 1903–1986) was a Chinese essayist, and a political figure. He was born in Jingshan County, Hubei province in 1903. He studied at Huangpu Military School. After he graduated from Huangpu military School, he continued studying in Moscow Sun Yat-sen University.
Nie Gannu 聶紺弩 (1903–86), essayist and poet, had begun his literary career by coming under the influence of the New Culture Movement, and was an avid admirer and follower of the iconoclastic Lu Xun 魯迅 (1881–1936), “father of Modern Chinese Literature.”
