ZMK provides two drivers for estimating the battery level using its voltage: zmk,battery-voltage-divider: Reads the voltage on an analog input pin. zmk,battery-nrf-vddh: Reads the power supply voltage on a Nordic nRF52's VDDH pin. See the battery level configuration page for the configuration supported by each driver provided by ZMK.
Pick any decent LiIon/LiPo single cell battery that fits your keyboard. More capacity = longer battery life. You can consult the ZMK Power Profiler to get a rough estimate of your expected battery life. Try not to poke it with sharp objects (switch pins on high-flex plate designs!
The zmk-usb-logging snippet is used to enable logging. If using GitHub Actions to build your firmware, enabling logging requires adding a snippet: zmk-usb-logging to your build.yaml file for any build you want logging enabled, e.g. ---.
Check the ZMK Power Profiler and set your expectations accordingly. Connect OLED VCC to a different power source. If the board powering your MurphPad has an alternate power pin (often labeled RAW ), connecting VCC on the OLED to it will prevent the display from being affected when board VCC is toggled off.
Dec 7, 2022 · If using mostly standard keyboard peripherals, you can use the ZMK Power Profiler to enter some basic details to get a rough estimate of the runtime based on the planned battery capacity. It can be very useful, if serious about your design, to measure the actual power draw of your design to see how you have done.
