Hringariki eller Ringerike henspiller opprinnelig på et større geografisk område enn det som omfattes av den moderne kommunen Ringerike, nemlig det landskapsområdet som kalles Ringerike. Dette omfattet opprinnelig trolig området rundt Tyrifjorden .
