Together, these new investments support TI’s plan to grow our internal assembly and test operations to more than 90% by 2030 for greater control of supply.
Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) today announced that US semiconductor giant Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) plans to expand its internal manufacturing footprint in Malaysia with two new assembly and test factories in Kuala Lumpur and Melaka with investments that could reach up to RM14.6 billion and create another 1,800 jobs.
The US semiconductor giant plans to expand its assembly and test operations in Melaka, creating 500 local jobs and boosting the state's economy and SMEs. The new factory will be built to LEED Gold Standard and produce millions of chips for electronics.
