The Abdul Hamid Abu Sulayman Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences was established in 1990. It is now the largest faculty in the University, with over 6,000 students and some 215 full-time academic staff. Its formation represents a drive to integrate Human Sciences and Revealed Knowledge disciplines.

GOMBAK, 22 August 2021: IIUM is working to name the Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences (KIRKHS) after Allahyarham Prof. Emeritus Dato’ Dr. AbdulHamid A. AbuSulayman, the second Rector of IIUM, given his enormous contribution and remarkable impacts he made to the University.

I am currently Head of the Department of Arabic Language and Literature from January 2019 until July 2025. A Chief Editor of Journal Linguistic and Literary Studies from 201 1 until December 2025, an external advisor of master & PHD in Arabic programme at Al- Madina International University Malaysia until 2024.

May all the current and future generation of the Ummah remembers his great contribution to all of us.

The Department of Communication offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes that deal with the nature of human communication through various media at the individual and societal levels. In these programmes, the conventional knowledge of the discipline is studied from the Islamic perspective in the spirit of Islamization of human knowledge.
