Oct 1, 2022 · The happy prince role as a statue that is he always help others who in needed. This can be seen through when the Happy Prince first saw the sick boy and his mother who is a seamstress, he immedietly send a ruby for the seamstress because she was poor and her son was ill with fever.
One of the moral values in the story is willing to sacrifice oneself to help others. The Happy Prince feel sad because his people live in a poor, so he want to help them. For examples, the Happy Prince asked the Swallow to take the jewels from his statue and give it to the poor people.
The Happy Prince has given of his beauty and possession - his gold leaf covering, sapphire eyes and ruby from his sword - to benefit the impoverished people he's witnessed below. Instead of being grateful for his care and compassion, the townspeople judge the prince by his outward appearance.
