As Ultraman Max was about to be killed by Zetton, Ultraman Xenon, Max's superior from Nebula M78, appeared in a red giant ball like Max did when he came to Earth. Xenon held Zetton off and even used the Xenonium Cannon to keep him at bay, but it was blocked by Zetton's Zetton Shutter.
Ultraman Max and Xenon. Ultraman Max returns in this film with a very minimal role. When Zero is leaving the Land of Light, every Ultra gives him energy and power, among them Ultraman Max and Xenon are seen.
In the middle of the series, Max was saved from Zetton by Ultraman Xenon, who gives him the Max Galaxy to even the odds: the device is added to his arsenal since then. In the final episode, the underground civilization Delos began their invasion of the surface after years of suffering from the negative effects to their civilization.

Jul 2, 2005 · Ultraman Max (スーパーバトルだ！ウルトラマンマックス, Sūpā Batoru da! Urutoraman Makkusu) was released on DVD. This special was a five minute clip show giving a review of Ultraman Max's backstory and primary attacks up until Ultraman Xenon gives him the Max Galaxy.
Later he inherits a new weapon the Max Galaxy from Ultraman Xenon. Eventually he tells Kaito that is almost time for him to return to Nebula M78. After defeating the mechanical beast Giga Berserke released by the underground civilization of Delos, he entrusts the peace of Earth to humanity and returns to Nebula M78.
Ultraman Xenon (ウルトラマンゼノン, Urutoraman Zenon) is Ultraman Max's superior as Civilization Observers. He arrived on Earth to help Max defeat Zetton and warning him of four more space aliens.
