The Internet of Things (IoT) describes the network of physical objects—“things”—that are embedded with sensors, software, and other technologies for the purpose of connecting and exchanging data with other devices and systems over the internet.
This paper addresses the major concern and challenges in IoT and smart home in Malaysia. Based on the analysis, it was found that three main challenges cited in the literature are perception of usefulness, confidentiality and privacy of consumer data, and absence of enterprise IoT applications in the country.
