Reçi is a historical Albanian tribe. It is located in the ethnographic region of Malësia northern Albania. The historical heartland of the tribe is the village of Reç in Malësia, but place names linked to them also appear on settlements such as Reč in Ulcinj where a part of them also lived.
Reç (also known as Reç i Poshtëm) is a settlement in the former Shkrel municipality, Shkodër County, northern Albania. At the 2015 local government reform it became part of the municipality Malësi e Madhe .
The Reçi War (Albanian: Lufta e Reçit), was the toughest and most successful resistance against the Italian fascists in the Shkodra region. This war took place in World War II in Albania, 1943 and was the last Albanian war against the Italian invaders.
May 28, 2023 · Aug 11, 2019, 2:14 AM. I am curious about the status of the Albanian tribe or region of Reçi of Malësia e Madhe in the Shkodër area. Some sources seem to say that Reçi is a tribe of polyphyletic origin while another source says that Reçi is not truly a tribe and is more of a region.
Reç village - turn right at the prison complex to reach it - is famed for the pylli i geshtenjave chestnut forest with 30,000 trees, some up to 300 years old, part of the Shkrel National Park. Reç is a village in Malësi e Madhe, Albania’s northernmost district. It lies at the foot of the hills on the eastern side of the valley of the Prroni i Thatë river, just inside the Shkreli Regional Nature Park.
