Barnes Village. It only takes 30 minutes to get from Barnes to central London, but it feels as though it's a leafy country village. It has good transport links, great independent shops and restaurants, some brilliant schools and a great sense of community.
Barnes Village is one of my favourite spots and a perfect example of English life just over the Hammersmith Bridge! Best way to get there if travelling via public transport would be tube to Hammersmith followed by the number 9 bus across the bridge down Castelnau and around onto Barnes Church Road and beyond!
