  1. Sultan Iskandar (known as Tunku Mahmood Iskandar until 1981) was the third and eldest surviving son of Sultan Ismail, (he had two older brothers, both of whom died in infancy) [citation needed] and was born on at 11:30 a.m. 8 April 1932 in the Istana Semayam, Johor Bahru.
