Harlow is on the M11 (Junction 7) which runs north to Cambridge and south to London, linking up with the M25 at Junction 27. To the west of Harlow is the A10 which provides a route to Cambridge or London. The A414 runs through Harlow and provides an east-west route from Chelmsford to St Albans.
Old Harlow is a historic village founded by the early medieval age and most of its high street buildings are early Victorian and residential, mostly protected by one of the Conservation Areas in the district.
