You can also specify that when you search from the New Tab Page, you want to get results from DDG. The page that opens when you open Edge is specified at ⋯ (Settings and more) > Settings > On start-up. This is by default the New Tab Page, but you can enter any address you like, including https://duckduckgo.com.
May 7, 2020 · Try to do this one below & see if it fixes your issue. In Edge, type the address "edge://settings/content" & see if the duckduckgo.com website is blocked in Location, Cookies and site data, and Insecure content. Ensure it's all removed. Once done, reboot your PC & login back to check if the issue persists.
Click the Search engine used in the address bar dropdown; you should now see DuckDuckGo; select it. If you'd also like to use DuckDuckGo instead of Bing on the New Tab Page, click on the Search on new tabs uses search box or address bar dropdown and select Address bar. Select Reset Settings > Restore settings to their default values. Click Reset. Restart your computer. After that, please try to set DuckDuckGo again. Edge > Click 3 dots > Settings.
Mar 20, 2023 · if "Search engine used in the address bar." is not already set to DuckDuckGo, select it from the dropdown. in "Search on new tabs uses search box or address bar" select address bar from the drop down, this will mean it will use your preferred search engine even if you type in the search box on the new tab page.
