Edward James Olmos. Edward James Olmos (born February 24, 1947) is an American actor and movie director. He is best known for his roles in Battlestar Galactica, Miami Vice, Stand and Deliver, Selena, Blade Runner and Zoot Suit. In 1988, Olmos was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for the movie Stand and Deliever .
