The latest animated movie I have watched that involved outer space in some way was "Escape From Planet Earth", and it was honestly a challenge to sit through. There were so many times watching this movie that I was groaning and very close to yelling in frustration at the screen that I lost count.

When a hero astronaut from the blue-alien planet Baab (Brendan Fraser) gets trapped on a notoriously dangerous planet called Earth, his risk-averse brother (Rob Corddry) must save him. Also starring Jessica Alba, Ricky Gervais, Sofía Vergara, Sarah Jessica Parker, William Shatner.
It is an easy to follow fun movie about an alien that comes to earth and gets taken prisoner by an exploitative military unit who have a number of other aliens as prisoners also. It has many funny jokes in it about how aliens would potentially view human kind.
