Mar 1, 2016 · NEW YORK – Jim Kimsey, the co-founder of Web pioneer AOL, has died of cancer at age 76. He died Tuesday morning in his home in McLean, Virginia, said his son Mark Kimsey.

He was the first chairman of the company and served as CEO until 1995. Although Kimsey is best known for having helped to create AOL, he also spearheaded many other business, military and philanthropic endeavors.
