Biography. Jay D Kranzler, MD, PhD, has been a leader in founding, building, and advising life science companies for almost four decades. After receiving his MD, PhD degrees from Yale University, Dr. Kranzler joined McKinsey and Company where he was key to building the pharmaceutical practice.
He is also an Adjunct Professor at the NYU Stern School of Business. Formerly, he was President & CEO of Cytel Corporation, a biotechnology company focused on immunology drug development, and a Management Consultant at McKinsey & Company, where he helped establish the Pharmaceutical Industry Practice.

Jay and Ginger’s father, Henry, found his home in Opelika in the 1930s and fell in love with the city. Henry was known in the community as “Mr. Opelika” and knew more about the city's history than anyone else.

Jay Stern (1913-2009) was the founder and active patron of the Interactivity Foundation. A former banker, World War II veteran, and regular contributor to progressive causes in West Virginia, Stern was among the most engaged and colorful philanthropic figures in the state.
