Howard Leslie Shore, né le 18 octobre 1946 à Toronto, est un compositeur de musique de film, chef d'orchestre, orchestrateur et saxophoniste canadien. Il est surtout connu pour la musique des trois volets de la trilogie Le Seigneur des anneaux, réalisée par Peter Jackson, qui lui valut d'être récompensé par deux Oscars du cinéma et dont les thèmes sont entrés dans la culture populaire.

Dec 7, 2009 · Howard Shore studied composition with John Bavicchi at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, and later co-founded the rock band Lighthouse, consisting of himself, Skip Prokop, Paul Hoffert, Ralph Cole, Bob McBride, and Larry Smith. In the band Shore played alto saxophone and flute; he also wrote songs that the band adopted.
