Jul 20, 2024 · Appalachian State is a great college for those who enjoy the outdoors, local markets/products, and who don't mind bi-polar weather. For those with a car it's nothing but a 20-30 minute drive for panoramic views of the Blue Ridge, wildflower hills, or to swim at a nearby water hole.
