Before being launched, the New 2008 underwent over 200,000 kilometres of additional endurance and reliability testing in the particularly demanding Malaysian climate and road conditions.
Stellantis obtained full ownership of the manufacturing plant located in Gurun (Kedah) in Malaysia on 28 October, previously operating as a joint venture with Naza Corporation. Over 170 employees have returned to work and Stellantis is working with over 50 local suppliers as production increases for the last quarter of 2021.
