by Claude Sautet. Max is a Paris detective, aloof, independently wealthy, and frustrated by gangs of robbers whom he cannot catch. To re-establish his stature and save face, he decides to inveigle a group of petty thieves (led by an old acquaintance) to rob a bank.
Claude Sautet, né le 23 février 1924 à Montrouge et mort le 22 juillet 2000 dans le 14 e arrondissement de Paris, est un scénariste et réalisateur français.
Sautet came into his own, however, with "The Things of Life" (1970), a keenly observed study of a mid-life crisis triggered by an automobile accident, which won the Prix Delluc at Cannes.
Claude Sautet was born on February 23, 1924 in Montrouge, Seine [now Hauts-de-Seine], France. He was a writer and director, known for A Heart in Winter (1992), Nelly & Monsieur Arnaud (1995) and The Things of Life (1970).
