James Phillip Rubin (born March 28, 1960) is an American former diplomat and journalist who served as U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs in the Clinton Administration from 1997–2000.

5 Jun 2024 · James Philip Rubin, aka Jamie, is the son of Harvey Rubin, a publisher and President of Rinder Press and his wife Judith Lowe, who is psychiatry. Rubin was born and raised into a Jewish family in Larchmont, Westchester County, New York.
Rubin discusses his early experiences on Senator Joe Biden’s staff, especially with the lead-up to Kosovo before the William J. Clinton presidential campaign. He was also the communications director for Madeleine Albright in her role as UN Ambassador, becoming a close associate over the years.
