2 hari yang lalu · On our trip to the Middle Rhine area, we stopped by the remains of the famous Remagen Bridge, or the Ludendorff Bridge, as it was called. The bridge is gone, but the towers are still there, and on the Western bank, they house the Remagen Friedensmuseum. Fun fact: the museum was financed in the 1970s, largely by selling stones from the bridge.

The blend of history and action always captivates us. Feeling inspired by the movie, we got in the car and started to drive with no particular destination in mind.
6 hari yang lalu · In March 1945, the Rhine River was the last natural barrier left open to Germany’s heartland. As Allied troops advanced, the only bridge still spanning the river was the Ludendorff railroad bridge at Remagen.
