Saltburn-by-the-Sea, commonly referred to as Saltburn, is a seaside town in the civil parish of Saltburn, Marske and New Marske, in the Redcar and Cleveland district, in North Yorkshire, England, 12 miles (19 km) south-east of Hartlepool and 5 miles (8 km) south-east of Redcar.

We've visited Saltburn Beach several times this summer, always early on a morning to avoid the crowds. Sometimes we walk to the right of the pier to explore the rockpools at low tide, other times we walk under the pier and to the left, past the iconic colourful beach huts, following the beach towards Redcar.
The coastline at Saltburn lies practically east west. To the north east of the town is the imposing Hunt Cliff, topped by Warsett Hill at 166m. Skelton Beck runs through the wooded Valley Gardens in Saltburn, then alongside Saltburn Miniature Railway before being joined by Saltburn Gill and entering the North Sea. 1 Teddy's Nook.
