Charuhasan Srinivasan (born 5 January 1931) is an Indian actor, director and retired lawyer who has acted in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi films. He won the National Film Award for Best Actor [1] and the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Actor for the Kannada film Tabarana Kathe (1987).
Suhasini Maniratnam (née Charuhasan; born 15 August 1961) is an Indian actress, director, producer and writer in the Tamil film industry. She has worked as an actress in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada films. She made her cinematic debut with the 1980, Tamil film Nenjathai Killathe.
Biography: D. Srinivasan, a lawyer and supporter of Indian independence, and his wife Rajalakshmi welcomed S. Charuhasan on January 5, 1931. He was the couple’s oldest child and more than 23 years older than Kamal Haasan, his younger brother.
